About the Role
The Off Campus Living Advisor is responsible for the development of off-campus living supports and resources for students attending Simon Fraser University. This role is dedicated to serving students on all three SFU campuses (Burnaby, Vancouver, and Surrey), with a primary focus on international students. The position is responsible for the creation and maintenance of off-campus housing resources including communication and educational resources that support students at any point in their transition to off-campus housing. This includes short-term accommodation listings and education for incoming students, those transitioning from campus housing to off-campus housing, and supporting access to information and education for any student related to decision making that influences their housing situation. Additionally, this role provides advice students in challenging housing situations using education, workshops, communication, and / or counseling appointments as needed. This position plays a key role in liaising and managing partnerships, both formal and informal, with a variety of campus and external partners to collaborate on effective efforts to support students in finding and utilizing off-campus housing.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in in Education, Social Work, Communication, Community Development, or a related field and three years of relevant experience serving a diverse student population, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Information
The assignment end date is 12 months from start date.
Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
