About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Health Services Manager (HSM), the staff perfusionist and The Department of Perfusion Services (Perioperative Care Division) supports patients undergoing cardiac surgery through the provision of cardiovascular perfusion services at the Halifax Infirmary (adult) and the Isaak Walton Killam Health Center (pediatrics). The department provides cardiopulmonary bypass for approximately 1100 cases per year.
Perfusion services also provides support for ECMO, Sugarbaker procedures, ventricular assist devices, balloon pumps, and blood recovery systems for a variety of procedures including liver transplant.

Where there are no qualified candidates, consideration may be given to those who have successfully completed the didactic portion of a recognized Perfusion program, and are willing to complete the clinical placement within NSH. Additionally, where there are no qualified candidates, consideration may be given to those currently accepted into an accredited Canadian Cardiovascular Perfusion program, including paid sponsorship for tuition with a return of service upon successful completion of the program. Preference will be given to those internal to the bargaining unit, in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

Compensation and Benefits
43.99 - $55.31 hourly
85,780.50 - $107,854.50 annually plus a market adjustment of $384.62 biweekly ($10,000 annually). Eligibility for a Market Adjustment is reviewed periodically.
OT / Callback is paid out in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
