Position Purpose :
The Production Supervisor ( Rotating Shift) is responsible for leading / directing the railcar production for assigned work center(s) at the Moose Jaw Service Center. The person in this role is on the front line and must ensure that employees performing repairs on railcars have all the tools, equipment, information and training needed to complete their tasks within GATX’s standards. Accountable for leadership of skilled labour employees, including all aspects of safety, quality, production and cost. Ensures the highest quality work in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.
Provides direction and motivation to the workforce to ensure performance metrics are achieved. Ensures consistent and fair administration of employee policies and procedures.

Scope of Work :
The Production Supervisor maintains a close working relationship with the Production Manager, Environmental and Safety Manager, Quality Manager, HR, Admin, and Service Centre Manager . The individual in this role will have an excellent understanding of the Service Center metrics and goals. The impact of this position on the business is significant as it ensures that daily safety, quality, production, environmental and cost goals are achieved. The person in this position will interact highly with production employees throughout the daily schedule. The decisions the person filling this position makes are highly technical in the mid-range of complexity and independent judgment regarding railcar repair. This position’s primary functions are conducted in accordance with established policies and principles. This position will have a range of approximately 10-30 production employees reporting to it.
