Your Opportunity
We are looking for a Tax Controversy Lawyer to join BDO Law LLP supporting our Tax Controversy and Dispute Resolution team and own the following responsibilities :
- Communicate directly with our clients and Tax authorities to support ongoing dispute resolution matters
- Assist and develop strategy, and draft representation for clients at all levels of the dispute process
- Draft legal representation and perform legal research regarding Tax matters
- Evaluate assignments in terms of fee estimates and manage matters to completion
- Focus on developing relationships across BDO Canada's practice to drive referrals
- Support the firm's growth through knowledge management and coaching of junior counsel and law clerks

You are a member in good standing of the Law Society in your relevant jurisdiction. Multiple Canadian bar admissions would be considered an assetYou have a minimum of 3 years of relevant Tax experience at a recognized national or local accounting or law firmLLM in Tax and / or completion of the In-Depth Tax Course would be a strong assetFluency in both French and English is an assetYou have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsYou have a collaborative nature and the ability to work in a cross-team environmentYou have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailYou have effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
