Metallurgical Engineer

Our client, a mineral exploration and development company, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metallurgical Engineer to join their team in Canada. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mineral processing, metallurgy, and process optimization, with the ability to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the development of innovative solutions in the mining industry.Responsibilities : Metallurgical Testing & Analysis : Conduct laboratory and on-site testing to evaluate ore characteristics and processing methods.Process Optimization : Develop and improve metallurgical processes to enhance recovery, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.Quality Control : Monitor and maintain the quality of metallurgical processes and ensure compliance with industry standards.Technical Reporting : Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation on metallurgical findings, process improvements, and operational efficiency.Collaboration & Support : Work closely with mining engineers, geologists, and plant operators to optimize production and resolve operational challenges.Research & Development : Stay updated on emerging technologies and advancements in metallurgical processes to improve overall efficiency and sustainability.Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance : Ensure all metallurgical processes align with safety regulations and environmental standards.Qualifications & Skills : Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field.5+ years of experience in metallurgical engineering, mineral processing, or a related role.Strong understanding of a variety of mineral processing techniques.Experience in iron ore and base metals mineral processing industries preferred.Proficiency in metallurgical modeling software and data analysis tools.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and teamwork skills.French language skills are required; English language skills are an asset.Compensation & Benefits : Competitive salary based on experience.Career growth opportunities in a global mining and exploration company.Exposure to cutting-edge metallurgical processes and innovative projects.
