JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Project Manager.
Reporting to the Senior Project Leadaer, this position will assist in administering the organization, coordination and execution of assigned project(s) within multidiscipline project portfolios and prepare and facilitate project documentation. The Assistant Project Manager will ensure appropriate project management and contract management governance is followed.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assist senior staff with coordinating and controlling defined stages of project management, ensuring alignment with Project Management governance throughout various phases of the project.
Support the implementation of approved Project Management processes, including phase-gating, scope management, schedule and cost control, change management, risk management, and reporting.
Help manage the engineering, procurement, and construction aspects of assigned projects, ensuring all objectives are met within safety, quality, budget, and schedule targets.
Assist in preparing Business Case Submissions for senior management, the Executive Office, and the Board of Directors, ensuring proper documentation is prepared for project approval and fund release.
Maintain close liaison with field construction teams and operations, addressing design, schedule, and costing issues, while assisting in regular reporting of project status and managing changes as required.
Assist in resolving issues and ensuring that any changes to scope, schedule, and cost are managed in accordance with established procedures, aiming to keep the project on track and within plan.
Facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and other relevant parties, coordinating meetings and directing discussions to achieve project goals efficiently.
Stay informed on technological advancements in project management, engineering, and construction, ensuring compliance with corporate and local procedures and advising when compliance challenges arise.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
