About the Role
The Senior BIM Modeler at ALTEN Canada plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between BIM management and signaling needs. This newly created position focuses on developing a robust library of 3D models and driving the implementation of BIM strategies tailored to railway infrastructure. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless integration of BIM models and signaling systems while upholding the highest industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Strategy and Standards
- Develop and implement comprehensive BIM strategies for railway projects, aligning them with project goals and industry standards.
- Establish, maintain, and enforce BIM standards and procedures in accordance with ISO 19650 and best practices.
Model Development and Management
Lead the creation, development, and maintenance of detailed 3D BIM models for railway signaling and infrastructure projects.Build and manage a reusable library of 3D models compatible with BIM software (Revit, Navisworks) to support signaling teams.Ensure that BIM models meet design, construction, and operational requirements for railway systems.Collaboration and Coordination
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, engineers, and architects, to integrate BIM models across disciplines.Facilitate communication between signaling and BIM teams to ensure seamless model integration.Quality Assurance and Data Management
Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance of BIM models with project specifications and standards.Manage and secure BIM data, ensuring its accessibility and usability for all stakeholders.Training and Support
Provide training, mentorship, and ongoing support to team members and stakeholders on BIM tools, processes, and best practices.Enhance team capabilities through knowledge sharing and guidance on emerging BIM methodologies.Innovation and Stakeholder Engagement
Stay updated on the latest BIM technologies and tools, recommending improvements to enhance workflows and project outcomes.Collaborate with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver BIM models that meet project goals.Candidate Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications
Proficiency in BIM Tools : Strong technical skills in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other Autodesk ACE Collection tools.Railway Experience : Proven track record in developing BIM models for railway projects, with an understanding of unique infrastructure challenges.BIM Standards Expertise : Extensive knowledge of BIM standards and methodologies, including ISO 19650 compliance.Experience Level : 5–8 years of BIM modeling experience, with a strong focus on railway infrastructure projects.Leadership Skills : Ability to mentor and train team members, fostering collaboration and skill development.Nice-to-Have Skills
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.Technical Tools and Certifications
Software : Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and SAP for specifications management.Certifications : Autodesk certifications and familiarity with ISO 19650.Soft Skills
