Role Responsibilities
We are seeking multiple dedicated Child & Youth Care Workers at the CYCW 1 classification to join our team. These positions are reporting to the Child & Youth Care Worker 2 Team Lead.
In this role, you will provide direct care, meet the support and wellbeing needs of extremely emotionally and behaviorally challenged youth within a trauma informed environment.
The Child and Youth Care 1 is a member of a multi-disciplinary team that is primarily responsible for providing direct services that ensure a safe and secure environment, and social milieu that assesses, identifies and implements the specific needs and direct program delivery for vulnerable youth in care, who are receiving Child Intervention services via the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act and / or Protecting Sexually Exploited Children's Act.
The CYC 1 works directly with youth, their families and as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.
The role of the CYC 1 position will be serving Alberta’s high risk youth population between ages 12-17 whose current life circumstances, choices and or behaviours compromise their ongoing safety and wellbeing.
High risk youth exhibit high risk behaviours, pervasive emotional dysregulation, that often leads to Secure Treatment or involvement in the justice system.
As a primary care provider, these positions are relied on to ensure that the individual youth's needs are identified and that approved plans are implemented and evaluated to determine achievement goals.
The Child and Youth Care Worker provides input to the multi-disciplinary team based on observations and direct interaction with the child.
The Child & Youth Care Worker 1 ensures a safe and secure trauma informed environment consistent with the centre philosophy and policies.
Positions in this class may work in either an open or secure environment.
