Position : Baker I
Part-time : 24 36 hours per week. Eligible for benefits after 3 months. If you are relocating from another province, please ensure you have AB Health coverage to be covered by our plan provider.
Availability : Weekdays and weekends- Early mornings (4 : 00 am start) and afternoons
Responsibilities :
- Provide excellent customer service
- Produce goods in a scratch-to-finish bakery
- Finish, wrap, display, and rotate products
- Plan and schedule bakery production to meet sales needs
- Maintain product quality standards and suggest new items to enhance selection
- Maintain temperature logs and ensure compliance with food safety guidelines
- Assist in organizing, directing, and coordinating the Bakery to achieve budgeted goals
- Supervise baked product production in the absence of the Bakery Manager
- Assist in supervising staff in the general operation of the Bakery
- Order, receive, and stock freight orders
- Stay informed about Canadian Food Inspection Agency recalls and CAC’s required response, and provide customers with current information
- Manage time efficiently to complete all special orders
- Practice safe food handling and wear appropriate attire
- Perform general housekeeping duties, following proper sanitation procedures and maintaining housekeeping logs
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager
Qualifications :
- Prior bakery experience
- Cake decorating skills
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with the ability to work independently
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; some heavy lifting is required
- Applicants must be over 14 years old. (Employment Standards mandates a permit to employ a person aged 14 or under, thus disclosure is required)
