Job description

Plant Manager

We are seeking a talented Plant Manager to join the team at a dynamic, fast-growing food manufacturer. This company is experiencing a period of high growth and is looking for a hands-on Plant Manager to help drive productivity during this time. This position involves overseeing the entire production process, ensuring quality standards are met, managing staff, and maintaining compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. The Plant Manager will report directly to the CEO.

Location : London, Ontario Canada

Job Responsibilities :

  • Oversee daily operations of the plant.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage production schedules to meet customer demands.
  • Supervise and train plant staff.
  • Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Implement and enforce quality control standards.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair of plant equipment.
  • Develop and manage the plant budget.
  • Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departmental functions such as procurement, distribution, and sales.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Respond to and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement plant policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the plant and maintain records of all production and safety activities.
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Required Skills / Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of experience in food processing or manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, and other food safety standards
  • Proven ability to manage cross functional teams
  • Knowledge of sustainable and environmentally friendly practices
  • Exceptional communication, leadership skills, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Ability to analyze and interpret production data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
