THE OPPORTUNITY : Graphic Designer

As Calgary Health Foundation’s in-house graphic designer, you will be part of a fast-paced, full-service digital marketing and communications team supporting critical organizational initiatives. Working collaboratively across the Foundation, you will be part of a team specifically responsible for external and internal communications, social media, digital marketing, events, design, media relations, publications, video production and other projects, to meaningfully engage with our stakeholders, support fundraising initiatives, and highlight impacts.

Key accountabilities of the role include :

  • Establish creative direction for the organization and develop templates.
  • Create and design compelling materials for print and digital collateral that align with the brand guidelines.
  • Take projects from creative brief to mock-up to print-ready artwork and press check , prioritizing and managing multiple projects within required timelines and budget restrictions.
  • Present finalized ideas and concepts to team members.
  • Art direct photoshoots .
  • Edit video footage into high-quality finished videos used to inform, engage, and inspire our audience.
  • Estimate the cost of materials and time to complete the graphic design.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media and the latest design trends.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate has exceptional project management skills and a strong portfolio of previous design work showcasing creativity, technical expertise, and diversity of experience. Possessing strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple demands in a dynamic and time-sensitive environment, essential attention to detail, and a keen eye for aesthetics, the chosen incumbent will use their interpersonal and communications strengths to foster enduring relationships with multiple stakeholders and to execute communication and marketing initiatives with excellence.

Additional qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Arts, Marketing, Communications).
  • A minimum of 5 years’ direct experience in graphic design.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    It is expected that the starting salary for this position will be $85,000 - $95,000, aligned with the successful candidate's experience and skill set.
