Job description

This position is responsible and accountable for :

  • Client and supplier connectivity in conjunction with the various interfaces.
  • Administration of Laboratory Information System (LIS) clinical software applications
  • Project, Relationships and Quality Management

To succeed in this role, the candidate will absolutely need to have :

  • Knowledge of LIS clinical software applications.
  • Previous experience with EPIC Systems, Cerner, Meditech, McKesson Corporation.
  • Experience with interfaces.
  • Knowledge of scripting language.

    • If you have knowledge of LIS clinical software applications and familiarity with Health Level Seven (HL7) international standards

    • Responsibilities

    Key Responsibilities

  • Provide uninterrupted exchange of specimen test order information between multiple users.
  • Assist with development, testing, and implementation of new interfaces.
  • Anticipate problems and troubleshoot all aspects of the LIS and Software applications.
  • Provide support for maintenance upgrades and new releases of the LIS applications.
  • Implement new LIS functionality based on external and internal user requests.
  • Oversee validation and evaluation in the LIS environment of all new releases or enhancements.
  • Perform builds in Laboratory Information and Accounting Systems.

    • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Education / Experience :

  • Completion of a college level program (Medical Lab Technology, Computer Science or related discipline).
  • 5+ years LIS experience.
  • 5+ years of medical laboratory experience and knowledge.
  • 2+years of interface support experience.
  • Possess knowledge and / or experience with HL7.
  • Possess knowledge of scripting language.

    • Office Suite : Solid understanding of CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

    Summary

    All candidates that are applying for this role must have HL7 as their background and have working in LIS for at least 5 eyars.
