Associate Vice-President Graduate Studies & Research

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice-President Graduate Studies and Research (AVP GSR) to join their dedicated team. The AVP GSR will be a key member of the Senior Academic Leadership team, responsible for championing the growth and promotion of graduate programs, enhancing student research opportunities, and overseeing all aspects of graduate administration.

This role requires a candidate with an earned doctorate, a strong academic leadership background in graduate studies, a proven record of research excellence, and the ability to be appointed at the rank of Full Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to bring a deep commitment to excellence in research, graduate administration, and student supervision, as well as a passion for the diverse disciplines at the company.

They must also be highly collegial, collaborative, and have superb communication skills, with a strong orientation to relationship building both within and outside the institution.

The ideal candidate for the AVP GSR position will be a staunch advocate for equity, diversity, inclusivity, and anti-racism priorities, and will demonstrate a commitment to Truth and Reconciliation. They should have excellent national and international networks and be adept at fostering strategic relationships.

The role involves providing innovative leadership within the Office of the Vice-President Research, in alignment with the company's institutional goals and objectives. The AVP GSR will play a critical role in growing the company's research culture and reputation, and must be prepared to support the institution's exciting opportunities for community and regionally relevant research. Expertise in areas that align with the company's research challenge areas, such as climate and sustainability, social justice, health, technology, and innovation, is highly valued.
