Job description

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is primarily responsible for the full recruitment cycle, which includes sourcing, attracting, hiring, and onboarding top talent to meet organizational needs. This role partners with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to develop recruitment strategies, enhance employer branding, and ensure a smooth hiring process. This role also focuses on building a strong talent pipeline and improving the candidate experience.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide recruitment support by posting jobs, participating in career fairs, screening resumes, conducting phone screens, coordinating interview scheduling, conducting reference and background checks, and creating offer lettersPartner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and develop tailored recruitment strategies.Manage job postings, applications, and applicant tracking systems.Source, screen, and interview candidates for various roles, providing feedback to hiring managers.Oversee the offer and negotiation process, ensuring alignment with compensation structures.Act as the strategic support and subject matter expert for hiring managers, providing coaching and thought leadership in upholding recruitment best practices, interviewing techniques, salary recommendations, and candidate experiences.Coordinate interview scheduling and provide guidance on candidate selection.Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process by processing paperwork, scheduling appointments, and orientating employees.Represent and promote Magnum’s employer brand to attract top talent.Enhance the candidate experience by ensuring clear communication and a positive recruitment journey.Collaborate with internal teams to support broader talent management and workforce development initiatives.Manage relationships and collaborate with external recruitment partners, job boards, and educational institutions.Conduct new hire check-ins and exit interviews to identify common factors and opportunities to enhance retention.Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for future hiring needs.Utilize social media, career fairs, networking events, community outreach initiatives, and referrals to attract passive talent.Stay updated on industry trends to enhance recruitment strategies.Develop inclusive hiring practices, implementing diverse sourcing strategies, and partnering with DEI initiatives to improve representation.Implement and manage talent attraction initiatives to source qualified candidates for hard to fill positions.Track, analyze, and report out on key recruitment metrics (ex. time to fill, cost per hire, candidate quality).Provide hiring insights and recommendations to improve talent acquisition processes.Maintain all recruitment procedures, policies, tools, and documents to ensure current materials are being utilized and maintained.Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal hiring policies.Provide backup to the rest of the human resources team when immediate support is required.Participate in various department initiatives and projects.Participate in training and development activities.Other related duties as required.Qualifications - RequiredCompletion of or working towards post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.5+ years of experience in talent acquisition or recruitment, preferably in the oil and gas industry.Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.Ability to manage multiple open roles and meet hiring deadlines.Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to interact comfortably and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.Able to work overtime and travel.Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.Qualifications - Looking ForStrong understanding of recruitment processes, sourcing techniques, leadership training, succession and workforce planning, and labour market trends.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.Excellent time management, project management, and organizational skills, with high attention to detail.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.Strong administration skills and proficiency in applicant tracking systems.Proficient in MS Office, including exceptional excel skills.Strong work ethic, positive attitude, reliable, and dependable.Flexible and able to adapt to change.Qualifications - AssetsExperience in developing and implementing employer branding initiatives.
