Category Insights Manager Toronto, ONHybrid (3 days in office / wk)The Company : Our client is a fast-growing Consumer Goods / Food Manufacturer with a very diverse and wide Customer client base, selling to all major Grocery and Retail banners in Canada and several major Chains in the USA. (Loblaw, Walmart, Costco, Kroger, Meijer, Publix, etc) Supporting National Branded innovating food products, they are seeking an experienced Category Insights Manager who can ‘hit the ground running’ and make an immediate impact both internally externally with Key Customers. The Opportunity : The Category Insights Manager will be primarily responsible for analyzing data and developing critical insights and solutions for major USA and Canadian based Retail / Grocery Customers, as well as supporting internal sales & marketing teams. This individual must be comfortable using CPG industry tools (Nielsen, Numerator, etc) to uncover insights that will support the growth strategy for Retail / Grocery Customers. You are very comfortable translating these insights into a concise internal or customer-facing presentation. Must be able to interpret data and ‘tell the story’. Reporting to the Director Category Development, this role will be a Hybrid office setup based in Toronto. Terrific opportunity for a technically gifted analytical leader with the intellectual horsepower to drive insights-based thinking and actions. Job Duties & Responsibilities : Provides expert level category knowledge on performance, innovation, market insights, trends and shopper and consumer insights. Creates on-going reporting (weekly / monthly / quarterly) to track and interpret performance while drawing insights that lead to actionable category development recommendations. Works closely and builds trusted partnership with sales team and other internal stakeholders to provide objective recommendations. Provides support to CPG accounts across both the Canadian and US markets. Identifies assortment opportunities, shelf allocations and adjacency recommendations of planograms.Provide postmortems and tracking of programs, including seasonal programs that lead to future recommendations. Analyzes promotional activity to evaluate success to provide recommendations for future features. Acts as an internal expert with CPG data tools including IRI, Nielsen, Numerator and other customer specific tools. Respects the confidentiality of customer data (internally and externally) Key Qualifications & Competencies : Demonstrated ability in sales analytics, category management to formulate recommendations.Minimum 5 years CPG experienceA high-level expert in all Microsoft Office Suite tools, particularly Excel and PowerPointStrong proficiency to pull data with CPG tools (eg. IRI, Nielsen, Numerator, LDIA, Dunnhumby etc.)Proven expertise in building user-friendly tools and reports that help bring data to life.Ability to distill vast amounts of data into critical business insights.Superb communication skillsPrevious experience in presenting complex analytics to a senior level audience.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Embrace our corporate values of speed, change and uncertainty while driving profitable growth.Education – bachelor’s degree Required.
