Stella-Jones, North America’s leading producer of industrial pressure-treated wood products, is looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to support our plants and yards across the region. This is a temporary position for up to 12 months with the potential for future opportunities...About Us : Stella-Jones manufactures and distributes high-quality railway ties, utility poles, residential lumber, and industrial wood products across North America. We pride ourselves on creating a workplace where growth is inspired, dedication is recognized, and achievement is rewarded.What You’ll Do : As the Health & Safety Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our plants and yards are compliant with company, client, and government safety regulations. You’ll be responsible for promoting a culture of safety, conducting safety audits, training employees, and leading initiatives to maintain the highest safety standards. This hands-on role will give you the opportunity to lead safety efforts across multiple locations.Key Responsibilities : Oversee and track safety standards, accident investigations, and compile safety statistics Co-chair safety committees and maintain records for all safety meetings Conduct safety audits, inspections, and employee interviews across plants / yards Manage and update Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) programs, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and safety manuals Facilitate Workplace Harassment and Bullying training Stay updated on provincial / territorial Workers Compensation regulations and communicate changes Support plant management and HR in responding to Workers Compensation claims Lead safety-related training and initiatives across multiple locationsQualifications : Minimum 5 years of Health and Safety experience in manufacturing environments Post-secondary education in Health and Safety or equivalent work experience CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) certification is a strong asset Valid driver’s license Bilingual in English (required) and French (preferred) Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills Strong understanding of provincial and federal health & safety regulations Comfortable conducting safety talks and public speakingWhy Join Stella-Jones?
