The Senior Team Lead is a seasoned Senior Designer with a keen passion and proven aptitude for the creative side of project delivery. As a senior designer, you have a clear understanding of the tasks, energy and experience required by others to complete a project from front to back. Corporate workplace needs to be front and centre for you to be successful in this role and you should be skilled at seamlessly translating the client’s needs into high-quality, innovative, forward thinking design concepts that meet their vision and expectation. Your focus will be largely at the front end of project delivery and will encompass strategy, visioning, and the full creative process from beginning to end. This leadership role is suited to a seasoned designer who not only has great vision and exceptional creative spark, but who can also lead a team of intermediate and junior designers to craft an award-winning custom design solution for each project. Responsibilities Team leadership – Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a project team(s) and oversee a team(s) of Intermediate Designers on a daily and ongoing basis including overseeing project budgets and schedules Design - Direct responsibility for design, translating client requirements from concept through completion Actively assist in managing the Studio through participation in weekly resourcing - demonstrating a clear understanding of what is required by everyone to complete a project from front to back and participate as appropriate in hiring processes Ensure continuous liaison with Associate(s) responsible for assigned projects Client Management & Dispute Resolution – Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and navigate client concerns and challenges on a daily basis. Knowledge Leadership – Demonstrated ability to share and mentor others. Ability to manage the completion of a Permittable set of drawings, inclusive of all dialogue with subconsultants. Ability to assist in sourcing and selection of new Junior and Intermediate staff Ensure work progress and deliverables are communicated regularly to senior staff and pro-actively and properly explained and handed over for coverage when / if as needed within the team Industry Participation – Attendance at non-industry related events and ID industry events as a representative of iN Studio. Firm Participation – Manage non-project related activity within the firm which contributes to our culture. Successfully completed the NCIDQ examination Qualifications, Skills and Experience : An experienced Senior Designer who likes to roll up your sleeves, you are a creative, organized and consummate professional who can skillfully balance multiple priorities. 8 + years as an Interior Designer in a design firm Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, M. Arch / ID NCIDQ, ARIDO registered LEED Certification is an asset Proven experience working as a Senior Designer with Corporate Workplace design projects including renovation and new construction & contract administration Excellence in design and design execution Technically proficient in a combination of AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Strong knowledge of codes and regulations with design aspects in Canada & OBC, AODA Strong leadership skills and ability to lead and mentor a team of individuals Passion for design with a creative and innovative perspective Ability to lead a complete project team, including sub-consultants, and prioritize activities and deadlines to project completion Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills Adept at relationship management, negotiation and conflict resolution Advanced knowledge of sub-consultant and furniture RFP process and evaluation If this sounds like you, check us out at https : / / instudiocreative.com and reach out to us if you have any questions. iN STUDIO is committed to equal opportunities in employment and respects openness with its employees, clients, vendors and candidates.
