Must have worked on projects within the insurance industryClient : Govt ClientRole : IT Program DirectorJob Type : Contract (12 month) + extensionLocation : Remote within Ontario, occasional team meeting in GTAYour New CompanyOur client, a very well-known govt client looking to hire Program Director.Your New Role : Reporting to Claims Journey to the Cloud Program Vice President Leads, the Program Director (PD) is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the overall program resources to ensure all projects are delivered using a ‘best-practice’ Project Delivery Approach and delivered within scope, time, cost and quality, yielding maximum return on investment. The role directs and provides technical guidance to the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of all projects under the program structure. The PD provides expert advice, consultation and strategic direction to executive management and team members on a broad range of strategic corporate initiatives. The role is also responsible for developing and maintaining communication linkages and relationships internally with business partners, the program management community, and all levels of management and externally with vendors as required. This role is responsible for building the program / project capabilities, leading the integration of all project work streams’ deliverables and managing the resource supply / demand to ensure proper skillset, capacity are in place for optimized program performance.This role is Accountable for the success of the Claims Journey to the Cloud Program. Strong experience and demonstrated leadership delivering large scale programs that include business and technology is required. Experience delivering these programs within the insurance industry is preferred, as is knowledge of core system implementations.Responsibilities : Program Management : Build program capabilities across the development of several work streams , coordinate and direct the implementation of dossier of projects and transformative initiatives to achieve strategic outcome / benefits.Relationship Management : Developing and managing relationships with executives and senior leaders across the organization to provide advice / guidance on program challenges, risks, issues and achievement of project / program outcome to enterprise strategyPeople and Team Management / Leadership : Planning, directing and controlling the day-to-day operation and administration of the program team structure.What You’ll Need : Education requirements : Knowledge of strategic program and project management theories and principles usually acquired through a recognized university degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science or another related disciplineExperience : 10+ years hands-on experience leading and managing projects5+ years of experience managing programs (group of projects) that are large scale, multi-year, multi-phased transformation with high complexity and high risk5+ years of experience managing people5+ years of experience working with third party vendorsTechnical or Professional Qualifications or Certifications / Designations : Certification in Project Management methodology, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) – PMI CertificationWhat You’ll get in ReturnThe client is offering a 12-month contract engagement, with a likelihood of extension.Interested?If you’re available and interested in this role, please reply to [email protected] as soon as you can attaching your updated resume and hourly rate requirement.
