Job description

The Role

We are seeking a driven Senior Infrastructure Analyst to join our dynamic team at IPH Limited in Montreal.

As a Senior Infrastructure Analyst, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of infrastructure, infrastructure support and application of changes to the environment. This role involves infrastructure activities in both BAU and project spaces and operates as a direct liaison between infrastructure and applications teams. The scope includes all infrastructure used by regional offices, such as networks, servers, databases, devices, user desktops / laptops, virtualization, phone system, email, etc. This includes technical architecture, capacity planning, performance management, IT security management, business continuity management and availability monitoring and response. The role also includes the opportunity to lead projects across the member firms.

The role requires someone with strong English and French communication skills, the ability to deliver high quality work with minimal oversight and strong abilities in infrastucture management.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensure operational processes and architecture principles are being followed;
  • Actively promote and plan for preventative maintenance of infrastructure;
  • Participate in infrastructure strategy and roadmaps;
  • Manage middleware and related software applications supporting the Applications team beyond the core infrastructure;
  • Provision, manage and support IT infrastructure systems, such as networks, servers, computers, virtualization, databases, backup systems, phone systems and email;
  • Manage high-availability, backup and recovery policies and procedures;
  • Responsible for availability, performance, and capacity planning of IT infrastructure;
  • Responsible for IT incidents and support requests relating to IT infrastructure;
  • Provide a high level of customer service to all users;
  • Create and maintain user and IT documentation in the knowledge base system;
  • Maintain a detailed inventory of all IT infrastructure;
  • Responsible for patching and updates on all IT infrastructure;
  • Engage with internal support teams and providers as required to resolve incidents and support requests;
  • Provide coaching and training on IT infrastructure, to other IT teams;
  • Reasonable availability and ability to work remotely to support deployments, maintenance and emergency fixes outside of normal business hours;
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Projects & Change Management

  • When required, act as the technical lead for the project team and be accountable for team delivering project requirements;
  • Provide estimates for project deliverables.
  • Security & Risk

  • Stay knowledgeable of, and adhere to, IPH measures to protect IT against cybersecurity threats / breaches
  • This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and there may be a requirement to carry out other tasks in accordance with the needs of the organization.

    Knowledge and Experience :

  • 5+ years of direct work experience in infrastructure management;
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience;
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in French and English;
  • Related application management experience is considered an asset;
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Windows Server, virtualization, and networking;
  • Experience with Veeam, Sophos, Mimecast, Meraki, Fortinet, and / or VMWare is considered an asset;
  • Previous experience in an IT support role is considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and also to work independently and take initiative;
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service;
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Excellent time management, organization and prioritization skills in order to manage workload and meet deadlines;
