Practice Leader – Commercial Insurance Programs
Position Overview
The Practice Leader will be responsible for overseeing and driving the growth, retention, and satisfaction of key clients within the commercial insurance sector. This role involves leading a team, developing strategic initiatives, and fostering strong client relationships to ensure the success of the business in this industry vertical.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for business growth, client retention, and market positioning.
- Assess market trends, competitor activities, and emerging risks to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with marketing to create targeted, personalized campaigns that enhance industry presence and client engagement.
- Streamline processes to improve client experience and ease of business transactions.
Client Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic clients, building and maintaining strong relationships with executives and stakeholders.Provide expertise in commercial insurance, keeping clients informed about industry trends and risk management solutions.Lead and contribute to the development of industry-focused educational content such as webinars, white papers, and articles.Assess client satisfaction and work with internal teams to address concerns proactively.Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and support a team of account managers, ensuring effective client interactions.Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.Conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.Business Development & Sales Growth
Identify and pursue cross-selling and upselling opportunities within existing accounts.Attend industry conferences and networking events to enhance business presence and partnerships.Financial & Strategic Planning
Develop and implement strategic account plans that align with client objectives and drive business growth.Monitor financial performance, establish budgets, and track key performance metrics.Work closely with insurers to negotiate terms, pricing, and program enhancements.Insurer & Partner Management
Maintain regular discussions with insurers regarding program profitability, claims activity, and market appetite.Identify opportunities for collaboration with insurer partners to provide added value to clients.Qualifications & Experience
Active RIBO license5+ years of recent commercial insurance experience.10 years of experience in Account Management, Sales, Underwriting, or related roles within an insurance brokerage or insurance company.Prior leadership experience preferred.Strong understanding of Commercial Insurance, particularly in Programs Insurance.Excellent communication, client management, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a client-centric approach.Additional Benefits & Work Environment
Up to 95k base salary + performance based annual bonusHybrid work environment - 3 days onsite downtown Toronto3 - 4 weeks vacation depending on years of service.
