OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE :
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Mariner Innovations team to help in our planned growth, and contract opportunities for our clients in Atlantic Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for client-based projects and, in collaboration with our delivery and sales teams, you will deliver best of breed solutions to new and existing customers.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE :
Lead the planning and estimation of business analysis tasks including requirement elicitation, analysis and documentationLead business process re-engineering initiatives to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of current business processes and identify and recommend process improvements and efficiency gains.Analyze and model the current state of a service, function or business process to create a complete picture of existing process flow.Perform needs assessment and requirements definition to facilitate consensus in the identification and documentation of agreed upon functional and non-functional business requirements and specifications.Lead Business Case Development and Cost Benefit Analysis in support of major initiatives.Develop and maintain a requirements traceability matrix to ensure all business requirements, design components and testing elements are addressed as identified.Lead the development and execution of User Acceptance test plans based upon agreed system requirements and defined business processes.Obtain formal stakeholder approval on business process documents and business change impacts.Analyze training needs and support the development of training programs or modification / improvement to existing programs.Collaborate with senior management to document, analyze and recommend solutions and business changes.Develop and execute periodic reports for senior stakeholders and tailor messaging based on target audience.Identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies to remove obstacles and drive effective risk mitigation plans across relevant products and projects.Work with stakeholders to define and refine relevant KPIs that align with business objectivesWHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU'LL NEED TO DO THE JOB :
Bachelor's degree in business, IT / Computer Science or related discipline from a recognized university / institution or equivalent experience is desired.Demonstrated experience in documenting detailed business and technical requirements in an Agile environment, including creating epics, milestones, user stories, and issues using prototyping tools.Expertise in sprint planning and backlog refinement.Ability to use advance Visio functionsAbility to understand data in various application databases and the data warehouse and how to join information to generate business value.Ability to understand configuration capabilities within implemented vendor applications.Ability to train users and stakeholders on new systems or software solutions.Ability to analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and creating detailed reports.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during software configuration.Proficiency in SQLCBAP or PMI-PBA certification and Utility industry experience is considered an asset.Prior experience working on public-sector projects.AND YOU ARE.. .Always improving your skills and knowledge : you want to be the best at what you doCurious and creative; comfortable taking on new problems and challengesA self-starter with the ability to recommend priorities to the project leaderComfortable working through problems and figuring things out with minimal supervisionGreat problem-solving skills : thorough and reliableAble to work in a team : share knowledge and assist other team membersAgood communicator : able to explain your ideas and recommendationsWell organized and dependable under pressure : you manage your time effectivelyEnergized by our company values!MARINER OFFERS YOU :
