Registered Nurses provide care to individuals who need assistance as they deal with the effects of aging, injury, surgery, or illness.
Please note that this position is for agency staffing support with the potential of homecare services.
The role will include :In collaboration with the patient / family / caregiver and other health care professionals, help formulate a plan of care based on patient assessment
Evaluate effectiveness of treatment plan(s) and adjust accordingly in consultation with the patient / family / caregiver and other health care professionalsAct as a patient advocate by protecting and promoting patient rightsTravel within your region between patients' homesProviding services in a variety of settings which may include in-home, clinic, retirement home or schoolPerforming other clinical duties as requiredExperience in wound care, IV medications and re-sites, catheter care, compression / VAC and ostomy care considered an assetDelegate as required within your scope of practiceQualifications
Have one of the following qualifications :Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BScN)
Bachelor of Nursing degree (BN)Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with College of Nurses of OntarioExperience as a visiting nurse, visiting registered nurse, visiting registered practical nurse, and / or community nurse considered an assetPhysical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel and reach, ability to lift 50lbs (23 kg) independently, ability to assist clients with standing, walking, and sitting; ability to reposition clients in bedValid Standard First Aid and Level C CPRUpdated immunization records (including completion of a two-step tuberculosis test within the last 6 months)Clear criminal background check, and Vulnerable sector check are required upon hireAbility to interact with others in a caring, tactful and courteous mannerExcellent problem solving, time management, and crisis resolution skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenValid G2 / G driver's license and access to a reliable carAbility to use phone applicationsRequirements
