Azran Lawyers , recognized for its expertise in civil law and located in the heart of Old Montreal, is looking for a Civil Liability Lawyer to join its team.

This position is for a legal professional who is passionate about defending the rights of individuals and companies in civil liability cases.

You will be responsible for representing our clients in complex litigation, related to civil liability claims, and designing legal strategies to achieve the best possible results.

This role requires a high level of discipline, the ability to manage multiple files at the same time, and excellent client communication skills.

Roles and responsibilities :

  • Judicial representation : Represent clients in civil liability matters, including disputes related to negligence, personal injury, and injury claims.

You will have to defend your clients’ interests in court with competence and conviction.

  • Case Management : Manage civil liability cases, from opening to resolution.

    • You will need to ensure that each file is complete, well organized, and ready for hearings or negotiations.

  • Legal Strategy : Develop effective legal strategies to resolve civil liability disputes.

    • You will need to analyze the facts, evaluate the evidence, and propose solutions tailored to each client’s specific needs.

  • Settlement Negotiation : Negotiate out-of-court settlements to avoid lengthy and costly lawsuits, while ensuring that your clients’ interests are protected.
  • Drafting of legal documents : Draft legal documents such as complaints, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.

    • You will need to ensure that all documents comply with legal standards and court requirements.

  • Communication with customers : Maintain regular communication with clients, keep them informed of the progress of their files and answer their questions with clarity and empathy.

    • Requirements :

  • Experiment : Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil liability law.
  • Language skills : Fluency in French and English, with excellent written and oral communication skills in both languages.
  • Analytical skills : Ability to analyze complex legal situations and propose innovative solutions to resolve disputes.
  • Personal qualities : Rigor, sense of organization, autonomy, and ability to work under pressure.

    • You must also have excellent negotiating skills and an ability to collaborate with other team members.

  • Technical skills : Proficiency in technological tools for case management and legal research.
