Job Summary
The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for managing packaging and indirect material inventories across all facilities. This position will manage all packaging co-ordinators, ensure minimum and maximum stock levels remain consistent, ensure proper rotation (FIFO) procedures. The position will require travel to other storage facilities, greenhouse and packhouse operations to provide a level of customer support as it relates to packaging supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the day to day operations of packaging and indirect inventory requirements including collaboration with the Purchasing and Planning departments to determine supply needs.
- Manage a network of team members across multiple locations, hire and train staff when needed.
- Oversee stock item master, identifying incorrect descriptions and stock numbers.
- Determines space requirements for storage and oversee the organization of inventory to ensure proper rotation, optimize material flow and materials management within each facility.
- Prepares and analyzes inventory reports to identify slow moving, surplus and obsolete inventory.
- Oversee weekly inventories and ensure checks against the MRP inventory are completed. Oversee the month end and year end counts and execute true ups against the system.
- Address variances, quality issues and concerns with relevant departments to help identify the causes and implement sustainable corrective action.
- Responsible for the control and inventory of returnable supplier containers.
- Ensure intercompany transfers and outside sales to Growers are completed.
- Outline cost saving opportunities; determine strategies to reduce overall operating costs where applicable
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external clients and vendors.

Requirements and Skills
