Avara Solutions is searching for a Planning Specialist (Offshore Hook-Up and Commissioning) for our Oil & Gas Client in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. The role would be on a 1 year contract, with potential for extension.
Project description
The Planning Specialist, Offshore Hook-Up (HUC) and Commissioning will work with primary HUC contractor to verify and analyze accuracy of schedule, progress and critical path through execution, commissioning and handover of work packs and systems. The role will identify and quantify any scope changes such as found work, technical changes such as TQs / SQ’s, topsides carry over work, vendor interfaces, schedule challenges and Cenovus impact to budget through change management process.
Responsibilities :
- Change Management – Oversight and management of internal site change requirements with the Project Management Team to ensure alignment with contractual requirements. Daily oversight of Contractor trends and changes and assess budget requirement with Project Controls Coordinator
- Project Services Interface support between offshore and ORA. ORA requests and scope transitions
- Resource Profiling – Support the review of weekly & monthly resource profiles in alignment with scheduled activities (Commissioning, and other Vendor Support)
- Reporting – Support development of weekly, monthly, and ad hoc Reports / Forecasts. Interfacing with the on-site contractors for reporting
- Analyze contractor timesheets to assess productivity, forecast impacts, and support cost control and reporting processes
- Maintain Carry-Over Work to Offshore process and monitor overall compliance during the Construction / Mechanical Completion / Commissioning Phases
- Meetings – Attend meetings with the Project / Commissioning Management Team, and contractors to support discussions related to the responsibilities above; Support development of presentations as needed
- Project closeout support
Qualifications :
Degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related fieldsExtensive experience in a planning role as equivalent qualification will be consideredExperience with mechanical completion, commissioning, documentation, and turnover planning10-15 years of relevant working experienceExperience in all phases of Project planning and project control activities from conceptual projects to construction and commissioningProficiency with Primavera and its capabilities, such as CPA, float path analysis and schedule performance. Other special application software packages an advantagePower BI development capabilityMake independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problemsCompetencies :
