Position Overview

As Director of Product at Purpose Unlimited, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s product vision and strategy for the products within your responsibility. You will work with the broader Purpose team and our clients to deliver innovative, customer-centric solutions. This role requires an equal parts strategic leader and doer who can drive product innovation, collaborate cross-functionally, and ensure our offerings meet the needs of the advisor market.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of how to create products for advisors that emphasize simplicity, flexibility, and personalization. You will work closely with the Purpose team to ensure our product portfolio aligns with Purpose Unlimited's product philosophy of building tools that enrich the advisor-investor relationship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Articulate and iterate a compelling product vision and strategy that supports the overall business goals and the mission of Purpose Unlimited.
  • Conduct market analysis, customer research, and competitive benchmarking to ensure our products are positioned to meet evolving customer needs.
  • Drive long-term product planning and roadmap development, ensuring alignment with both business objectives and purpose-led outcomes.
  • Product Development & Execution :

Work closely with Product Owners to communicate requirements for new capabilities.

  • Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and other teams to ensure a seamless development process and effective go-to-market strategies.
  • Implement and refine product management processes and frameworks to support scalable product development.
  • Customer-Centric Approach :

    • Develop a deep understanding of our customers and their needs through direct interaction, data analysis, and feedback.

  • Ensure the voice of the customer is integrated into product design and development, leading to products that drive value and engagement.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and experimentation by leveraging customer insights, data, and market trends.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration :

    • Partner closely with other teams (including Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and Operations) to drive overall business success and product-market fit.

  • Align product efforts with Purpose Unlimited’s sustainability, impact, and purpose-driven goals.
  • Financial and Business Impact :

    • Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and prioritize product investments that balance business profitability with social and environmental outcomes.

  • Drive growth and engagement through product innovations that support revenue goals and enhance the company’s reputation for delivering purpose-aligned solutions.

    • Qualifications

  • Experience :

    • 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior role (Senior Manager, Director, etc.).

  • Proven track record of leading the development and launch of successful products, ideally within mission-driven or purpose-oriented organizations.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Experience working within Wealth or Asset Management or at a tech firm within those segments.
  • Skills :

    • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to align product strategies with organizational goals.

  • Deep customer empathy and the ability to translate customer needs into innovative product solutions.
  • Expertise in product lifecycle management, including agile methodologies and iterative product development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Mindset :

  • Results-driven with a continuous improvement mindset and a willingness to experiment and iterate.
