As an Electrician with VCH you will :
- Perform skilled electrical work in the installation, testing, repair and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment, microprocessor based systems, controls, circuitry and components, including high voltage equipment of up to 12000 volts, in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and the Canadian Standards Association standards using tools such as testing meters, conduit benders, drills, saws, soldering irons and a variety of hand tools such as screwdrivers and pliers.
- Install, program, repair and maintais a variety of programmable logic controllers such as the Allen Bradley SLC 500, the GE Fanuc / Cimplicity and Modicon systems.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Grade 10 plus two years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trade Qualification certificate as a journeyman Electrician recognized by the Province of British Columbia.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written english.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Ability to deal with other effectively.
- Ability to plan, organize, and set priorities.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care / Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
Proof of vaccination status will be required.
