Job Title : Renewable Energy Construction Project Manager

Position Overview : As a Renewable Energy Construction Project Manager, you will lead the execution and delivery of renewable energy construction projects in Calgary, Alberta.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities :

Manage all phases of renewable energy construction projects from planning and procurement through construction, commissioning, and handover.

Coordinate and supervise construction activities, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure adherence to project scope, schedule, quality standards, and safety protocols.

Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans; monitor progress and manage project risks and changes effectively.

Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, building codes, safety standards, and company policies throughout the construction process.

Conduct regular site inspections, safety meetings, and quality assurance checks to maintain high standards of construction performance.

Manage stakeholder relationships including engineers, contractors, regulatory authorities, and local communities to facilitate project success and mitigate conflicts.

Prepare and present project status updates, reports, and presentations to senior management and stakeholders.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of construction processes and practices to optimize project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction project management within the renewable energy sector, with a proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects on time and within budget.

Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, construction methods, project planning, and execution processes.

Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and construction teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and familiarity with construction management software.

Knowledge of Alberta's construction regulations, environmental requirements, and permitting processes.

Preferred Qualifications :

Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Experience with utility-scale renewable energy projects such as solar farms, wind farms, or hydroelectric facilities.

Familiarity with energy storage technologies and their integration into renewable energy projects.
