Job description

Senior / Lead Land Analyst

Our client is seeking a Senior / Lead Land Analyst to join their busy team in Calgary or Grande Prairie Office. This is a Hybrid (Work / Office) Fulltime opportunity. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience leading teams, and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support company projects.

Your success will be defined by your ability to :

  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to more junior staff members.
  • Liaise with government agencies and knowledge of regulations that are associated with land acquisition operations.
  • Lead by example and ensure the most basic tasks within the surface administration team are executed.
  • Key liaison between clients and teams, while providing the Senior level support.
  • Provide professional ability to problem solve.
  • Manage surface administrative quality of work.
  • Provide corrective instructions and solutions to mitigate mistakes.
  • Coordinate with Managers and other Leads to designate resources and distribute work as required.
  • Prioritize projects and ensure client commitments are being met.
  • Responsible for the training and utilization of all internal databases and providing active feedback in future developments of software.
  • Responsible for evaluating workloads and processes to realize opportunities for efficiencies and improvements.

Your strengths include :

  • 5 + years’ experience as a Land Analyst, Project Coordinator, or Project Manager, within an environmental consultant.
  • Leadership experience would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in the Upstream, Midstream, Power and Renewable Energy Sectors throughout Western Canada with a focus on AB and BC.
  • Knowledge of various federal and provincial processes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in SPINII, ETS, AbaData, SharePoint, Pandell Projects, Microsoft Office Suite, OneStop, EDS will be considered an asset
  • Good organizational and communication skills including written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Post-secondary certificate, degree or diploma in land or related field.
  • FN experience an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of appropriate surface acquisition
  • Expert understanding of the acquisition process on Crown land requirements.
