Position Purpose
The Community Life Coordinator (Undergraduate) henceforth Coordinator provides oversight to most co- and extra-curricular student programming for Tyndale University (Undergraduate Studies).
Working closely with student representatives across the organization, the Coordinator advises, coordinates, and assists with student-related events and programs while providing counsel, leadership development, and mentoring for student leaders.
The Coordinator assists in planning and coordinating other campus-wide events and programs, including orientation activities.
Primary Responsibilities
People Management
- Coordinates the hiring and training of Tyndale University Undergraduate Student Association (TUUSA) officers, Resident Advisors, House Leaders, and Commuter Representatives
- Oversees officers of the TUUSA (Executive team and Event Coordinators)
- Oversees officers of the Tyndale University Representative Council
- Contributes to the leadership development and spiritual formation for undergraduate student leadership members and Rep Council.
- Assists in developing structures and initiatives to equip student leaders in growing their skills as event programmers and people managers.
- Ensures various duties and events are carried out according to the mission and vision of Tyndale University and the Department of Student Development.
Student Programming
- Provides direction and support to the development of programs, activities and events that encourage on-campus and commuter students to develop holistically.
- Assists in coordinating CULTIVATE new student orientation program
- Assists in coordinating new student orientation program for students
- Oversees House system and the implementation of its programs
- Develops activities and programming that contribute to student retention and the fostering of student community development
- Contributes to and assists with the coordination of Student Development-related campus events and programs that are inclusive of the entire student body
- Maintains pertinent website(s) and social media accounts
- Collaborates with other departments, including Academics, Alumni, Conference & Campus Services, Marketing, and Admissions
Student Development
- Contributes to undergraduate student leadership training.
- Attends and participates in regular department meetings and conferences as deemed necessary.
- Works collaboratively with other departments to provide services, support, and programs for Tyndale students.
- Ensures regular and timely communication of student activities and events to other departments and the wider Tyndale community.
Position Qualifications
Education
- Undergraduate degree
- Graduate degree in Higher Education, Student Development, Counselling, or Biblical Studies / Theology (preferred)
Experience
- Minimum of three years’ experience in student development / higher education work
- Managerial experience
- Experience working with young adults
Skills and Abilities
- Good problem solving skills

- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to problem solve and multi-task
- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
- Mental Health First Aid certification (preferred)
- Strong administrative skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Excel, and social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook

Salary Range
$44,000 to $48,500
