Senior Project Manager - Remote

Our client in the insurance industry is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in Agile methodologies and traditional project management.

The ideal candidate will lead teams as a Scrum Master / Senior Project Manager, guiding them to deliver high-performing results while fostering a deep understanding of agile principles and team dynamics.

In addition to Agile, this role requires expertise in managing traditional project lifecycles, including Scaled Agile, Kanban, and SDLC methodologies.

  • Work schedule from 9 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm. Some weekends may be required for implementations that cannot be performed during regular business hours.

Responsibilities :

  • Drive Agile processes and support Product Owners / Portfolio Managers with planning and backlog management.
  • Manage workflow tooling (, Jira) to ensure backlog refinement, highlight blockers, and provide workflow reporting.
  • Facilitate standup meetings, reviewing workflow issues and blockers as needed.
  • Collaborate with external teams to ensure continuous progress on key deliverables.
  • Partner with Portfolio Managers to ensure efficient demand intake and accurate minute capture.
  • Strengthen teams' understanding of Agile / Scrum principles and coach them towards high performance.
  • Align teams with Agile practices, fostering transparency across Business, IT, and Operations regarding team progress.
  • Create a continuous learning environment, enabling teams to adapt to evolving circumstances.
  • Ensure team actions align with project goals and overall vision.
  • Manage all phases of large or multiple medium, high-risk cloud IT infrastructure projects using best practice standards and processes.
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships to ensure project delivery expectations are clearly defined and successfully met.
  • Create and manage detailed work plans, project schedules, estimates, and resource plans.
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues, ensuring effective strategies are in place to mitigate or address them.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication within the project team and with stakeholders.
  • Lead product plans, reviews, demos, and competitive analyses with the team, partners, and executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with larger program teams to develop external communication and action plans using tools like JIRA, Confluence, and others.

What you will need to succeed :

  • 5 to 10 years of progressive experience as a Scrum Master / Project Manager.
  • Foundational knowledge of cloud computing (AWS, Azure) is advantageous.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in implementing medium to large-scale technology / business projects, including desktop technology, data centers, cloud computing, mainframes, distributed server environments, web-hosting services, networks, telephony, unified communication, security, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of Agile principles and experience in adapting them to evolving environments with ambiguous requirements.
  • Agile certification (, Scrum Master, Kanban, SAFe) is required.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
  • Background in software delivery or development is a plus.
  • Proficient in workflow and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, ServiceNow.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Project and the MS Office suite.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, emphasizing relationship management and team building.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity effectively and guide project team members through it.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex project and technical information concisely to management.
  • Strong influencing skills, with the ability to resolve difficult situations.
  • Strong facilitation skills to conduct successful meetings and ceremonies.
  • Ability to create detailed project plans for complex, interrelated projects.
  • Action-oriented, self-motivated, and solutions-driven.
  • Experience managing projects involving third-party managed services.
  • Experience in leading offshoring and global projects.
  • Ability to balance Agile and Waterfall methodologies as needed.
