Job description

As a Senior Manager within the Commercial Credit Risk team at National Bank, you’ll be a leader and coach throughout the credit adjudication process . You'll maximize the quality of an assigned commercial loan portfolio in line with the Bank's strategic objectives and prescribed Risk Appetite. In addition, you'll implement strategies to monitor the quality of the loan portfolio in order to ensure integrity and to maximize profitability and business development.

Your role :

  • Independently analyze, authorize or recommend complex commercial financing applications based on credit policies and procedures as well as National Bank’s risk appetite.
  • Anticipate and identify transaction risks and how to mitigate them.
  • Optimize relationships with the various stakeholders and act as a coach for account managers.
  • Independently take part in various committees and special mandates.
  • Adequately follow up on loan portfolios to improve quality.
  • Encourage the continuous rethinking of work methods to optimize processes and systems and present innovative solutions.
  • Be involved from the beginning of the credit origination process until disbursement.
  • Positively impact peers and colleagues by being a proactive driver of change.

Your team :

Reporting to the Senior Director, Commercial Credit, the position will be based in Toronto. You will operate in a hybrid work environment with both days in the office and at home. Additionally, you will have to occasionally travel for client and team meetings.

Basic Requirements :

  • Completed bachelor's or master's degree in administration, accounting or a related field, and seven to ten years of relevant experience, predominantly in a credit adjudication role
  • Experience in complex commercial financing
  • Excellent knowledge of commercial financing products and services
  • Be a team leader recognized for helping implement credit initiatives and / or special large-scale projects
  • Ability to make complex decisions in very short times
