Job Summary

Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager for our Vancouver Office located in Coquitlam, BC.

Responsibilities

  • Overall Project delivery from cradle to grave including accountability for the Projects profitability
  • Constant forecasting of the Project’s progress both financially (variances to budget) and operationally (meeting construction schedule deliverables).

This includes accountability for mitigation of any financial or operational risk

  • Ensuring all Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental regulations including Worksafe and Employment Standards are met or exceeded
  • Responsible for all onsite labour coordination including management of subcontractors
  • Prepare and issue subcontractor agreements and / or purchase orders including reconciling revised contract amounts
  • Responsible for Equipment and Material procurement including price negotiation with vendors and meeting scheduled delivery dates as per construction schedule
  • Prepares and maintains all progress billing applications, schedule of values, change orders logs and follows up on pending changes as well as outstanding Accounts Receivable
  • Solve all deficiencies within time requirements set out in the Project Contract
  • Ability to make decisions independently, timely, and within project scope

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in the mechanical construction industry building mechanical systems (plumbing and HVAC)
  • 5+ years Project Management in Mechanical Construction or Design experience working with projects in excess of $10M
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a Professional Engineering degree ( or other technical certification who have their Gold Seal Certification (GSC) or working towards their GSC.
  • PMP designation an asset
  • Ability to plan and manage a project schedule
  • Proven contract negotiation and management skills
  • Leadership and ability to work in a team, coaching skills, training and helping project coordinators
  • Ability to anticipate complications and solve them in a time and cost effective manner
