The Job Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountant is a key contributor to the finance team providing exceptional planning, analytical, and reporting support. As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for helping to make business critical financial decisions by collecting, tracking and correcting the company’s finances. In addition, you will be responsible for reconciling bank statements, ensuring financial records are accurate and assisting with financial audits. You excel at maintaining accuracy and attention to detail, thrive under tight deadlines, and collaborate effectively across teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Key Responsibilities
- Review and post all journal entries
- Review and prepare weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
- Review and prepare financial reports and account variance analysis
- Maintain and update balance sheet continuity and lead schedules
- Reconcile and remit sales taxes
- Assist in interim and annual audit requirements
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of accounting operations
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and management reporting, including variance analysis
- Support and mentor junior staff members, review and provide feedback on their work
- Liaise with other internal departments and external stakeholders
- Assist with ad hoc issues or any new projects as they arise
