Job Description

Responsible for delivering training, development, and for monitoring performance relative to sales goals for the branch and wealth teams within the credit union. This role will provide thought leadership to management on industry best practices and how they could be implemented here at PenFinancial. This role will support our leaders and staff by driving the evolution towards a more proactive sales culture, by providing the skills, knowledge, reporting, and motivation to exceed member expectations and achieve business goals.

Differentiating Accountabilities :

Training & Development

  • Implement and manage comprehensive training programs for new Delivery hires and existing staff, focusing on sales techniques, product knowledge, and member service excellence.
  • Develop and delivery ongoing professional development initiatives to ensure staff are up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • In conjunction with the branch managers, define skill development plans for each member of the delivery team to support their ongoing growth and development
  • Mentor and coach the branch management team to enhance their sales skills, improve performance, and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Sales Culture Evolution

  • Act as a thought leader for our transition to a proactive sales culture by creating and promoting strategies that prioritize member needs and align with our organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with branch managers to set clear sales objectives, develop action plans, and monitor progress against targets.
  • Implement and refine sales processes, tools, reporting, and technology that support a more member-centric approach.
  • Drive initiatives that encourage cross-selling of products and services, enhancing the overall member experience.
  • Performance Management :

  • In collaboration with the branch managers, establish performance metrics and using data available through CRM and other technology, regularly evaluate the impact of these performance metrics.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to branch staff and managers, identifying areas for improvement and recognizing achievements.
  • Develop and implement incentive programs and campaigns within the frameworks that are in place at PenFinancial, to motivate staff and reward high performance in sales and member service.
  • Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with department leaders and branch managers to align training and sales strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative environment where ideas are shared and teamwork is encouraged.
  • Member Experience Enhancement

  • Ensure that all training and sales initiatives are aligned with our commitment to delivery exceptional member experiences.
  • Monitor feedback and reporting to adjust training programs or sales approaches as necessary to meet evolving member expectations.
  • Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in finance, commerce, or related program
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in financial banking
  • Skills and Competencies :

  • Significant experience with Sales training systems and approaches
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate easily with co-workers, building strong and trusted business relationships; able to influence without authority
  • Experience working with Banking systems (RFS / LOS / CRM) and the data that comes from these systems to drive results
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement, while maintaining emphasis on member service
  • Disciplined work ethic and committed to providing top quality work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and perform effectively despite sudden deadlines and changing priorities
  • Good analytical and investigative skills
  • Process management knowledge, including Six Sigma training
  • Works well independently and has demonstrated good judgment in making decisions
  • Proficient with Microsoft technology (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
