Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
Complete reports to record problems and work performedInspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctionsDiagnose defects and malfunctions and confirm findings with the supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace the unitAdjust, repair, or replace parts and components of a transport truck and truck-trailer systemsInspect brake systems, wheel bearings, steering components, and other engine parts, and perform repairs as requiredPerform scheduled maintenance servicesTest and adjust repaired systems to the manufacturer's specificationsHelp prevent breakdowns by checking, cleaning, and oiling machine parts regularlyEnsure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience :
Candidates who have completed the Interprovincial Red Seal Mechanic Certificate or are in the process of completing the blocks are required.Automotive Mechanic Red Seal Endorsement1 – 2 years’ similar experience preferredClass 3 Drivers LicenseWillingness to work in a team environmentGreat attention to detailAbility to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible mannerAbility to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisorsWorking safely is a condition of employment.
