Our Banking client is looking for a Product Controller (Bank, CFA, Valuation, Governance, Audit, Market Risk)Length : 17 months contract Location : Toronto, ON (Hybrid) - 2 days a week in the officeWorking Hours : 8.

30 AM - 5 PM Line of Business : Finance - Capital Markets ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to) : Acts as liaison with all internal and external regulatory bodiesEnsure that VPC is compliant with all internal and external regulatory requirementsProvide guidance with respect to any changes in regulatory environment that may impact the groupResponsible for ensuring that the month-end reporting process is accurate, complete and appropriately documentedEstablish standards for all of VPC's documentationEnsure that all IPV / Valuation Adjustments documents are consistent with the Principles document and updated as scheduledEnsure that all ORSD's are updated as requiredEnsure that documentation of the review of recommended market data sources is complete and current.

This includes documentation of the methodologies and controls of third party price providersEnsure that the frequency and availability of market data is appropriately documented (ORSD and ORSD Assessment documents)Ensure that the mid-month and month-end IPV reporting memos are complete and meet the standards established by the DirectorEnhance that the documentation of criteria for the determination of fair value leveling is complete and establish appropriate reportingEnsure that documentation of proxies throughout Market Risk are appropriate and consistent with the governance frameworkEnsure that all BMA spreadsheets meet standards as defined by Financial Control GroupBe proactive in identifying issues and proposing and implementing solutions MUST HAVE SKILLS : 5 - 7 years of related work experience, preferably in a financial institution or audit firmStrong understanding of derivative products and markets, as well as the valuation and risk management methodologies associated with theseStrong understanding of establishing appropriate controls required for an independent valuation groupSolid understanding of accounting principles, finance accountabilities, and back office processes would be an assetPrevious experience with Capital Markets Trading Lines of Business / Capital Markets Finance NICE TO HAVE SKILLS : CFA CertificationMarket RiskGlobal Middle OfficeChief Accountant's GroupExternal and Internal AuditorsRegulatorsModel Validation SOFT SKILLS : Strong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to function effectively within a teamAbility to prioritize multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines while paying attention to detailsStrong analytical and problem solving skillsSolid quantitative skills INTERVIEW PROCESS : 1st round - in-person 2nd round IV with incumbent they are replacing and counterpart - VirtualPotential 3rd round URGENT : Please read the job description above.
