Starting Wage
The starting wage for the position will be CA$22.10 on probation and will increase to CA$27.63 after probation is completed. Further after 6 months, the rate will increase to CA$28.13.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of general maintenance experience in a Hotel or related industry.
- Post-secondary technical degree or related industry certification.
- Advantage goes to those candidates with a 4th Class or higher Operating Engineers License.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of guests, employees, and management.
- Excellent organizational, computer, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Very strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift weight up to 70 pounds.
Daily Tasks
Repairs electrical equipment in the kitchen by cleaning, repairing, and replacing parts.Repairs appliances such as fan motors, heating units, and dishwashers.Repairs or replaces electrical equipment in guest rooms such as the TV and refreshment centers.Assists other trades with installation, maintenance, and repairs.Installs new electrical equipment including light bulbs around the hotel.Performs preventative maintenance on equipment such as air vent cleaning, oiling pumps, and fan motors.Responsible for collecting worksheet / HotSOS device each morning with key and returning each at the end of the shift.Responsible for master keys in his / her possession.Responsible for reporting any malfunction in equipment; maintains tools and equipment to ensure a safe working condition.Maintain clean safe work areas, ensuring compliance with safety, health, and fire regulations and policies.Fits and replaces drywall, plaster cracks, and fills holes.Paints ceilings in guest rooms and touches up other areas in rooms such as doors.Paints service corridors and public areas of the hotel.Prepares walls by removing old paper, repairing minor damage, and painting or hanging wallpaper.Mixes paint or stain, matching with surface to be treated. Prepares surface by scraping, sanding, and oiling wood.Repairs tile work in tub areas and replaces carpeting or flooring where needed.Touches up furniture, paints wood panels and windowsills in the hotel.Repairs furniture such as chairs, desks, drawers, and beds.Builds furniture such as partitions and shelves.Maintains all hotel equipment with care and keeps them clean and in good working condition.Employee will be required to do heavy lifting and climbing of ladders / stairs into confined spaces.Performs other tasks as assigned by the management.Hyatt Centric Philadelphia | Philadelphia, PA, US
