Founded in 2011, the Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA) is an industry-led, not-for-profit organization that operates regulated recycling programs across Canada. With over 3,150 locations across the country, they represent the largest network of qualified electronic processors and drop-off locations in Canada. The EPRA works across diverse regulatory landscapes and a challenging logistical backdrop, to ensure materials are collected, recycled, and handled in a safe, secure, and environmentally sound manner. Over 1.4 million tonnes of electronics have been diverted from Canadian landfill and illegal export, with valuable materials making their way back into the manufacturing supply chain and used to make new products.
The EPRA’s long term vision is to be recognized in Canada as the leading provider of product stewardship programs, with a primary focus on electronic equipment and complementary products and services, delivering sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective management.
As the organization evolves and grows, the EPRA is seeking to add two Independent Directors to its Board of Directors.
The Independent Board Directors will provide strategic guidance, ensuring EPRA continues to serve as the leading provider and a trusted steward of the electronics product stewardship programs. Key responsibilities include :
As an ideal candidate, you have prior governance experience by way of board service in a public or private enterprise, a not-for-profit entity, or crown corporation. Prior executive experience in Finance (CPA) or Board Governance experience, combined with prior executive experience across legal or human resources disciplines are ideal backgrounds. Experience within regulated industries and Government Relations experience is an asset.
