Job description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Cloud System Administrator in the IT Services industry, located in Oakville, Ontario. The role involves a mix of support and project-based work focusing on our private cloud platform.

Responsibilities :

  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues that may arise on the private cloud platform
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of our VM-based private cloud platform
  • Implementing system upgrades to enhance platform performance
  • Installing and configuring new servers as part of hardware upgrade projects
  • Managing network configurations within the private cloud infrastructure
  • Establishing dedicated platforms for customers requiring specialized infrastructure
  • Incorporating additional memory into servers as part of system enhancement efforts
  • Providing robust support for the private cloud platform, ensuring optimal functionality
  • Utilizing knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server in day-to-day operations
  • Applying computer networking skills to maintain and improve platform performance.
  • Proficiency in computer networking is mandatory.
  • Demonstrable experience in networking required.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Windows Server is a must.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is necessary.
  • Proven experience in managing cloud-based systems, preferably with certification.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with team members and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues.
  • Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl, or other language.
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking protocols and infrastructure designs; including routing, firewall rules, etc.
  • Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management.
  • Understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience.
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
