About the Project Cross Fraser Partnership (CFP) is a Bouygues Construction Canada Inc., Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas Canada Ltd., Pomerleau BC Inc. and Arcadis Canada Inc. general partnership that has been selected to collaboratively deliver a new, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel that will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99. The new tunnel will have three vehicle lanes and a dedicated transit lane in each direction, with a separated active transportation corridor for cyclists and pedestrians. Position Overview : The Risk Analyst will report directly to the Risk Manager. Roles and responsibilities include : coordinating and facilitating group and individual project risk assessment and review meetings; performing qualitative and quantitative project risk modeling and analysis; and developing risk mitigation strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing project-specific risk management plans, covering risk identification, analysis, response planning, and monitoring.
- Organizing and facilitating risk interviews and group assessment workshops to gather requirements, identify and prioritize risks, and establish consensus on effective risk response strategies.
- Supporting lessons learned reviews, schedule critical reviews, and cost estimate evaluations to identify and understand key areas of uncertainty.
- Advising and assisting project teams in executing risk treatment plans and effectively communicating risks to prevent unforeseen issues with key stakeholders.
- Integrating project-wide risk data to support daily risk management, program and project assurance, and informed decision-making.
- Leading project schedule risk workshops and conducting Quantitative Schedule Risk Assessments (QSRA) to analyze the cumulative impact of risks on the project timeline and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conducting cost risk workshops and Quantitative Cost Risk Assessments (QCRA) to assess the financial impact of risks and determine effective cost management strategies.
- Preparing and delivering periodic risk communications, assessment reports, and risk profile presentations for Project Leadership and Teams.
- Providing risk management advisory support, including guidance on when and how to conduct formal risk assessments, develop mitigation plans, and implement tracking mechanisms to monitor risk control effectiveness. Education and Qualifications :
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in accounting, business, risk management, credit management, or insurance, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years experience in analyzing and interpreting data, financial statements, and conducting qualitative reviews is an asset.
- University Degree in project management, engineering, or related discipline plus no less than 3 years of experience in development and implementation of risk management practices, risk identification, risk mitigation, and strategies on large construction projects / programs.
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn and adapt to new methods for accomplishing work activities and objectives.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with various groups.
- Capable of working within tight deadlines and prioritizing tasks to meet them.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated urgency and a strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to thrive in a fast-paced and steadily changing environment.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in risk management, insurance, claims, surety, or construction management is an asset. Preferred Qualifications
- Experienced in facilitating risk workshops and effectively coordinating large groups of stakeholders.
- Proficient in applying Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) techniques and tools such as ACUMEN, SAFRAN, @RISK, and PRIMAVERA.
- Knowledgeable in risk management activities and deliverables across various project lifecycle stages, including investment decision points and milestone-based assurance reviews.
- Extensive experience in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) advisory sector, particularly in public infrastructure and industrial project development.
- Skilled in creating and delivering reports and presentations using Excel and PowerPoint, along with performing analytical tasks to support project leadership in decision-making.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure development projects, project delivery processes, and related activities to support risk assessment and management.
- Familiar with the integration of risk management with other project management functions, such as cost and schedule planning, change management, quality management, reporting, and commercial management.
- Hands-on experience with Enterprise Risk Management tools, including Active Risk Manager (ARM).
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple consulting engagements effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to facilitate discussions.
- Collaborative working style, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders in risk management processes.
- Experienced in working with diverse stakeholders, including business customers, subject matter experts, and project managers, to balance competing demands.
- Certified Risk Management Lead (CRM) or similar designation is an asset.
