We are looking for a driven, passionate, positive individual to join our Broker Distribution Learning & Development team.
A key part of the Aviva Canada Distribution strategy is to grow our business through bringing to bear our relationships with brokers.
The primary purpose of this role is to lead and supervise Learning & Development for the Broker Distribution team in Canada ensuring development and delivery of training in support of business strategies, internal policies and procedure and employee development & growth.
The Learning & Development Senior Manager will work in partnership with the other technical L&D teams across the business and our L&D team in our People function to identify and deliver on development needs.
The ideal candidate is a customer champion and committed to delivering a consistent, engaging learner experience.
This role supports the Broker Distribution teams and Aviva brokers in all regions in Canada.

What you'll do :
Lead the design and delivery of a diverse range of learning programs to enable onboarding, and personal development of brokers and Distribution partners.
Design and develop solutions that create an end-to-end learning experience with a focus on interactive digital delivery, micro learning, self-paced learning, job aids, and instructor led sessions.
Design and develop roles and methodologies to support in-person learning capability for key broker partners.
Lead the Broker Learning & Development team through significant change due to system migrations.
Using a consultative approach, work with your team, subject matter experts and senior leaders across multiple business functions to deliver one consistent experience nationally.
Drive accessibility in learning design and facilitation.
Evolve facilitated learning experiences to help support overall Aviva broker value proposition.
Be the customer champion when collaborating and coordinating with partners in determining training needs and appropriate delivery method.
Be comfortable with agile test and learn environment; willingness to challenge the status quo and fail fast.
Stay on top of standard methodologies / emerging industry trends in learning and development to support innovative learning experience design.
Deploy training through the Learning Management System; create curriculum structure, enrol participants, completion reporting.
Build and maintain templates, standards, technical specifications that drive adoption of standard processes throughout the organization.
What you’ll bring :
Minimum 8 10 years of related experience, with experience in creating and presenting training for colleagues ideally within the insurance industry.
Formal background and experience in training and development with a strong understanding of adult learning principles.
Proven ability to design and build blended solutions for the insurance industry / financial services.
Experience with eLearning authoring tools and learning management systems (Cornerstone, Articulate suite, and Vyond an asset).
Certification in adult education or instructional design.
Courage to challenge collaborators, while bringing a consultative approach.
Able to adapt quickly to change and energized by new ways of working.
Strong relationship management and communication skills.
Ability to own and implement deliverables from start to finish.
Excellent prioritization and analytical skills.
Excellent MS Office application skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint).
University education or equivalent experience.
Bilingual an asset but not required.
