Tasks

• Assign seats to passengers using computer reservation systems
• Check passenger baggage to determine those which are oversized and overweight to ensure travel standards are met
• Prepare boarding passes for passengers
• Calculate load weights for aircraft compartments
• Plan load for aircraft
• Pre-flight documentation
• Relay messages to operations control and downline stations
• Calculate transportation, insurance and other costs of cargo items
• Maintain work records and logs
• Process bills of lading, cargo manifests or other documents
• Trace missing baggage and / or cargo shipments
• Weigh cargo items
• Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages
• Assist clients / guests with special needs
• Attend boarding gates and assist pre-boarding passengers
• Clerical duties (i.e. faxing, filing, photocopying)
• Help customers plan travel time and routes
• Make, cancel and change flight reservations
• Prepare and issue tickets and receipts
• Provide customer service
• Reserve seats for general public, travel agencies and tour companies
• Work with minimal supervision
