Job description

Our client is seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner in the Fort McMurray region who will support and mentor a team of HR professionals in developing, implementing, and iterating HR strategies, programs, and strategies. You’ll provide high-level guidance and be a trusted advisor and consultant to the company’s business leaders and HR Team.This role works a regular Monday to Friday schedule during office hours with flexibility for occasional urgent after-hours calls. You’ll have the chance to work with a long-established medium-to-large employer in the region who offers strongly competitive compensation and benefits compared to the market. The successful candidate will have formal HR education with the experience needed to be an effective HR mentor. If successful, you’ll also be able to build trust using high emotional intelligence and the ability to have tough conversations while being vulnerable and transparent.Our recruiting process is simple. If that interview goes well, the Hiring Manager will interview candidates and extend an offer to the successful applicant!How You’ll Move the NeedleProvide advisory services to leaders and team members on HR and People Management issues, including the development, implementation, monitoring, and iteration of policies and guidelines to remain compliant and currentMentor a team of HR professionals that consult internal business units on leadership people matters, including but not limited to, talent management, performance management, leadership development, and workforce planningContribute to creating and designing the overall organizational HR strategyMove HR projects forward and implement new initiatives in collaboration with the HR Manager, including best practices research, preparing for review, and implementing recommendationsCollaborate with a team of supporting departments, including HSE, business development, and finance / payrollComplete regular compensation and rewards reviews, suggesting changes and improvements based on market valuations and business needsEnsure any employee changes are executed smoothly, in collaboration with managementReport on companywide HR results and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), lead workforce planning, and support RFP submissions as neededWhat you need to succeedWe are looking for a candidate that demonstrates the following abilities and traits : Formal education in the field of Human Resources coupled with experience needed to mentor a team of HR professionalsAbility to contribute to the overall direction, then able to support the collective direction once decided uponExperience supporting and cultivating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiativesStrong understanding of Alberta Human Rights and Alberta Employment StandardsEmotional intelligence with an ability to build trusting workplace relationships, show humility and transparency, and navigate tough conversationsTime management and prioritization skillsCommitment to professional and personal developmentWhat would give you an edgeA Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related fieldTraining in areas of employment and contract lawBest Culture Solutions, Inc. appreciates the time of all those who apply.
