Your new company Hays has partnered with an integrated local firm registered in Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan who are actively looking for an Intermediate Designer to join their growing production team. This firm has considerable experience on a wide variety of building types of varying scale and complexity, committing to high quality innovative design on all. As an Intermediate Designer you will be working across commercial, institutional, industrial, hospitality and residential project types. - Your new role In your role, you will play a crucial role in the creative team, contributing to the development and execution of design projects. You’ll collaborate with experienced designers, architects, and other team members to bring innovative ideas to life. Your duties and responsibilities will include : Participating in project development during schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases and develop architectural concepts either autonomously or collaboratively as required. Produce highly accurate and visually appealing 3D models and architectural drawings for conceptual presentations and create compelling architectural images. (Plans, Elevations, Building Sections, and Exterior materials concepts)Produce printed or digital presentation documents with a good sense of graphic design and contribute to brainstorming sessions and pitch creative ideas. Work closely with Senior Designers, Architectural Technicians, and other team members.Keeping up to date on construction practices, products, codes and technology.Lead the front – end design of a project including initial client meetings to develop programs, initial planning concepts, with development to full designs. This would include renderings, plans, elevations, building sections, and exterior materials concepts. What you'll need to succeedThe successful candidate will have a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Architecture or Technical program. Ideally you will possess 5+ years of local experience and have previous experience workingon similar project typology to the firm. You will be proficient with the following platforms : Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe & Sketch-Up. You will have high proficiency in developing architectural drawing packages and knowledgeable with detailing. You will possess sound knowledge of local buildings codes and bylaws. Ability to listen and respond to client’s needs.Registration, LEED & PMP Certification are a bonus but not a requirement.
