Contract Plant Operator
Location : Foster Creek, AB
Contract : Initially 6 months with a view to extend.
Camp provided.
Rate : This will depend on experience. Maximum rate up to : $52 per hour T4; $60 per hour if Incorporated.
Foster Creek is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and Edmonton as well as bus transportation to site from La Corey, AB
This is a full-time contract position working a shift of 12hrs per day, 7 days on, 7 days off. Wednesday to Tuesday, rotating days, and nights
Reporting to the Coordinator, the Plant Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of facility equipment while actively adhering to the policies, safety, operating rules, schedule agreements, attendance guidelines, and Government regulations.
Responsibilities :
- Operate the Facility in a safe and effective manner, while working collaboratively as part of the team
- Maintain and troubleshoot all area-specific equipment to optimize performance to meet production targets as per the facility guidelines
- Perform condition monitoring including sampling and testing per area responsibilities, documented and act on results
- Operational rounds including electronic Log entry of operator actions taken during the shift
- Provide assistance, coaching, on-the-job training and assessments to new employees as required
- Support maintenance schedule by preparing equipment for planned work utilizing the LOTO procedure
- Perform walkarounds, participate informal LOTO and HSE safety audits
- Execute housekeeping activities, document, and take corrective action as required
- Conducts Handover Meeting with outgoing / incoming unit Plant Operator

Must be legally entitled to work in CanadaPossess a 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate, with preference given to those holding a 3rd Class CertificateMinimum 1-year Operating experienceRelevant experience in cyclic steam or SAGD thermal recovery heavy oil operations would be an assetProficiency with computers is required (experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, SAP, and a field data capture system would be considered an asset)Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skillsSelf-motivated and able to work with minimal supervisionThis is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Drug and Alcohol policy which includes pre-assignment testingStrong technical skills to complement Power Engineering qualificationsPossess a valid Class 5 Driver's License (driver's abstract required)
