Job description

Pertinent Information : Direct Hire – career opportunity.   This is a great opportunity for a Junior candidate looking to gain valuable experience. Training will be provided.   Full details to be provided at time of interview.

Compensation Package : $65,000 – $70,000 / year + benefits (to be discussed further in the interview process)

Job Description :

As a member of the Engineering team, the job description will include :

Identifying continuous improvement initiatives within the plant and managing “existing and new” projects that will assist the production floor, utilizing Lean Manufacturing and 5S principals and 6-Sigma techniques.

  • Supporting new manufacturing processes and creating / implementing new standard operating procedures, standards etc. all while identifying root cause analysis and participating in corrective action processes
  • Analyze individual work stations for efficiency utilizing tools and time studies
  • Interdepartmental communication while managing various on-going projects.
  • Conduct Process Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (PFMEA) into each process which prevents the potential for manufacturing problems.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to continuously improve process performance while reducing manufacturing cost. Streamline and simplify existing processes and work methods.
  • Provide Manufacturing Engineering support to the Process Sign-Off (PSO) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) activities to ensure each process and associated documentation is ready for full production.
  • Actively participate in activities to eliminate waste.
  • Work with outside contractors as it pertains to new projects / programs on the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to manage projects (cradle to grave).
  • Knowledge and application of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and 6-Sigma principles.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to work within Engineering team and with various supplemental departments.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects, prioritize work load and meet company deadlines.
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Office (Word / Excel) and MS Project.
