Our client, a reputable full-service law firm is seeking a Family Law Clerk to join their team in the heart of downtown Toronto!
Responsibilities
- Drafting and preparing legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, financial statements, and other family law forms
- Assisting with the preparation of court documents and filings, ensuring compliance with the rules and deadlines
- Managing case files, including maintaining up-to-date records and conducting legal research as needed
- Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and courts to facilitate the progression of cases
- Scheduling and coordinating client meetings, court appearances, and other relevant appointments
- Assisting Lawyers in trial preparation, including organizing evidence and preparing exhibits
- Conducting follow-ups with clients and third parties to ensure all matters are addressed promptly
- Maintaining confidentiality and managing sensitive client information in line with ethical and legal standards
- Providing general administrative support as required, such as handling billing, time entry, and maintaining office systems
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Family Law ClerkStrong knowledge of family law principles, procedures, and relevant legislation in OntarioProficiency in drafting legal documents, including financial statements, affidavits, and court filingsExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlinesProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal management software.Compensation
