WHAT'S THE JOB?
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and troubleshooting of all kitchen appliances within the camp’s facilities. This role requires strong electrical knowledge, practical experience in appliance maintenance, and the ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
The position involves a remote work lifestyle in a camp setting with the following amenities :

Key responsibilities include :
Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on kitchen appliances (ovens, fridges, dishwashers, deep fryers, etc.) and electrical systems in the camp kitchen
Conduct regular inspections of all electrical appliances and systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
Quickly diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues in appliances and kitchen equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and uninterrupted camp operations
Assist with the installation and commissioning of new kitchen appliances and electrical systems as needed
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls related to electrical failures or appliance breakdowns, ensuring quick resolution to minimize disruption
Manage inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for appliance repairs, ordering supplies as required to ensure adequate stock levels
Work closely with other maintenance staff and camp management to address any electrical or equipment-related concerns promptly and efficiently

Work schedule and remuneration :
Maintenance Technicians work on a rotational schedule of 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off in Nunavut. The site location is a remote setting, requiring air travel to site. You may be required to work nights, weekdays, weekends, and general holidays. Wages are paid on an hourly basis with a starting rate of $38.00 per hour. Group benefits are included upon the date of hire. Occasional travel may be required to different camp sites within the region.
