Aon is looking for an Associate for our national team specializing in post-retirement and post-employment insurance plans actuarial valuations and assumptions setting for those plans.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate, looking to gain experience in the field.
This can be a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and / or from one of our Canadian offices.

What the day will look like
Our successful candidate will participate in the establishment of assumptions for actuarial valuations specific to post-retirement and employment insurance plans (commonly called "Other post-employment benefits" or "OPEB") for Canada.
You will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of OPEB-specific actuarial valuations for a complex group of clients in Canada including :
- Data reconciliation, benefit calculations, gains and losses reconciliation.
- The preparation of disclosures and accounting reports following Canadian, American, and international accounting standards.
- Participate in the development of actuarial tools to improve efficiency.
- Assisting consultants to help our clients with day-to-day issues and questions.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

- 1 3 years of relevant experience in a consulting or insurance environment working is preferred;
- Ability in mathematics and financial analysis, and demonstrated computer skills using financial spreadsheet programs;
- Superior interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
- Highly motivated, customer-service and team-oriented individual;
- Ability to work under deadlines, and ability to work on several projects simultaneously is critical;
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is an asset; and
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent, preferably in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field;
- Commitment to professional development. Working towards completion of ACIA and ASA designation, completion of 1 to 3 SOA exams is preferred.
